ANNIE SAMA

Annie Sama is a singer, songwriter, producer and performer of Canadian Congolese background. Based between Montreal and New York, Annie is a multidisciplinary artist, fusing music, dance, and visual arts, on top of having a foot in the fashion industry. Her music is quite singular : a cutting-edge pop with industrial sounds, which could be defined by various electronic influences, like Grimes, Mozart's Sister, Arca, Yaeji or even Chairlift.

Formerly known as APigeon, she brings together all of her different skills into a new project, to create her very own musical universe, this time under Annie Sama. She is releasing her debut EP this september, giving us a sweet taste of what’s to come and of her new musical direction. Annie is accompanied by Blaise Borboën-Leonard in studio and show. Annie co-produces her EP Clear with Blaise and mixe by Gab Gagnon.

The past few years have been a real whirlwind for Annie. She performed at the CMJ festival, the NXNE festival, the Canadian Music Week, at Pop Montreal, at the Mode & Design festival, at the Royal Ontario Museum, at Jean-Paul Gaultier’s Love is Love vernissage at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and for Raf Simons at Dior’s System Magazine launch at the Carlyle Hotel in New York. Not to forget her riveting performance at the Okeechobee Festival in Miami, in 2017. Her talent and creativity offered her an artistic residency in the renowned Arsenal Contemporary (MTL-NYC).
