Susan Rogers holds a doctoral degree in experimental psychology from McGill University (2010). Prior to her science career, Susan was a multiplatinum-earning record producer, engineer, mixer and audio technician. She is best known for her work with Prince (1983-1987) but production/engineering credits also include David Byrne, Barenaked Ladies, Geggy Tah, Nil Lara, Robben Ford, Tricky, Michael Penn, and Jeff Black. She is currently a Professor in the departments of Music Production & Engineering and Liberal Arts at Berklee College of Music, Boston, where she teaches music cognition, psychoacoustics, record production and analog recording techniques. Susan is the director of the Berklee Music Perception and Cognition Laboratory for investigating the influence of musical training on the auditory pathway.

Amanda’s lifelong love of music – nurtured from a young age by a guitar-playing dad and drummer mother – led her to the Public Relations program at Durham College, where she focused much of her studies on the music biz. An internship with MapleMusic Recordings (now Cadence Music Group) helped pave the way to her career with Indoor Recess in 2010. Over the years, she has had the privilege of working with countless musicians and events, delighting in the opportunity to discover new artists and watch them grow and bask in their successes.

From a young age I've always loved music, and like many people entering the music industry I was initially on the other side of the fence, playing drums in numerous bands throughout my teens and early 20s. As I got older my interest in the business side grew, I started interning at labels and actively seeking opportunities. I now head up Melodic, we are a label, artist management and European label management company based in Manchester, UK.
For over twenty years Colin Mackenzie has worked with and for Canadian musicians; as producer, manager (Jale, The Super Friendz, Thrush Hermit, Jerry Granelli, Neko Case), label owner/manager (Perimeter Entertainment, Cinnamon Toast Records, Murderecords), tour coordinator, booking agent, festival coordinator, grant writer (Envision Management & Production), video director, and national radio producer (CBC-The Signal). He has sat on the board of directors of both artist-run centers and the East Coast Music Awards (NS) and served as a jury member for The JUNOS and FACTOR. In the 90s he was the co-director and talent coordinator of the Halifax On Music Festival (Halifax Pop Explosion). Since 2013 he has raised over a million dollars in funding through private, federal and provincial granting bodies for Canadian artists’ and musicians’ needs: touring, recording and creating. His focus has always been and remains the artist and how best to strategize their career. He is presently the Special projects manager at Montreal's Envision Management and Production and the North American Representative for Byta.com.

ThinkSync Music was founded by Connie Farr and is a one-stop music supervision, consultancy and licensing service for Films, Trailers, TV and Promos, specialising in projects looking for music with character and individuality.
Connie’s past film music supervision projects include Andrew Haigh’s award winning ‘45 Years’, Tom Harper's remake of 'The Borrowers', Carol Morley’s 'Dreams of a Life' for Film 4, Hong Khaou’s ‘Lilting’ and SXSW Grand Jury winner Adam Leon’s 'Gimme The Loot’.
Recent film music supervision projects are ‘Lean On Pete’ starring Chloe Sevigny, Steve Buscemi and Travis Fimmel and Harry Wootliff’s upcoming debut ‘Only You’ starring Laia Costa and Josh O’Connor. Additional upcoming projects include Sarah Gavron’s ‘Girl Untitled’, Hong Khao’s ‘Monsoon’ and Peter Mackie Burns’s ‘Rialto’.
ThinkSync is also the out-of-house Music Supervisor at the UK offices of Ignition Creative, Empire Design and the Picture Production Company, working on a whole range of TV promos and International film trailers (Fortitude, Peaky Blinders, Johnny English, Warcraft, The Great Wall, Hologram For A King, Glue, Drifters)
Passionate for art, music, festivals and events, Dijana Lakus started as a band manager turning into booking agent & promoter (Bob Dylan, QOTSA, Manic Street Preachers, Conor Oberst, Beatsteaks, Enter Shikari, Placebo...) Last years majorly involved in festivals from Outlook, Dimensions & Seasplash in Croatia to Glastonbury and Secret Garden Party in United Kingdom. Her newest project is art festival DEV9T in Serbia. Also works as consultant and teaching art management at universities & schools all over Europe. Active member of International Music Managers Forum.

Having worked in an independent record store in London I began as a freelance music supervisor in 2002. In 2003 I moved in house at Saatchi and Saatchi to set up their music department, overseeing all sourcing, licensing and commissioning of composition. After four years I moved to WCRS (now Engine) as Head of Music before setting up my own company Ark Music in 2010. In 2015 I joined Cord Worldwide as Executive Creative Director overseeing the supervision department as well as creative direction on sonic branding and brand partnerships. At the end of 2018 I left this position to resume my focus on Ark.

Francella Fiallos is the station manager at CJLO 1690AM, Concordia University's campus radio station. Prior to that, she was the programming and development director at CKDU-FM in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is a Polaris Prize juror and served on the grand jury in 2017.

Marc got his start at Sloan’s murderecords, Canada’s premier artist owned label during the mid 90s. After working in A&R at legendary London indie Creation Records, then at Alan McGee’s Poptones, Marc started his own boutique UK radio promotion company off the back of his success with The Hives. For over 10 years Marc worked with an impressive list of indie rock luminaries including Wilco, Bloc Party, Conor Oberst/Bright Eyes, Spoon and Refused as well as legends such as Tom Waits, Yoko Ono, Booker T and Mavis Staples.
In 2015 Marc founded Byta (https://byta.com) “the platform for music before it’s on streaming services”. Run as a distributed team across 3 different continents, Byta allows everyone to send & receive digital audio in a clean and simple way.
Marc currently lives in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Currently active as Head of Music Programme at Kino Šiška venue in Ljubljana and project manager of MENT Ljubljana festival and conference. Actively involved in music world since 1996 as a musician in various noise rock, free improv and experimental bands/projects, radio activist at Radio Študent as a music editor and DJ. He has initiated Klubski Maraton of Radio Študent project in 2001, has been co-coordinator of CrossRadio network of ex-Yugoslavian independent radio stations (2001-2008), club dj, promoter and producer of local and international music events, editor at rx:tx music label 2004/5. In 2005 he has established Kataman Music Action booking and promotion association and run it’s activities until 2009.

Menno Versteeg is a musician and artist that founded the Toronto based label Royal Mountain Records. As head of A&R he is responsible for helping discover acts such as Alvvays, Pup and Calpunia and signing critically acclaimed artists like Mac Demarco, U.S. Girls, Ought and Metz. In his spare time he enjoys soup, holding his breath underwater, and going on tour with his band Hollerado.

And, now currently, runs her own boutique music agency with a select roster of artists, which includes rising-rapper, bbymutha, + JUNO-nominated rapper, Nate Husser.

Monika Chmielewska is a young lawyer working in the Legal & Business Affairs department at independent music publisher Third Side Music. She handles negotiations for synchronization requests (for film, TV, advertisements, promos, trailers, and video games worldwide), sample and interpolation uses, and works made for hire. Amongst other things, she was involved in negotiations for high profile projects such as Colin Stetson’s original score for Hereditary (A24), and Sofi Tukker’s feature in Apple’s iPhone X campaign.
Prior to joining the TSM family, Monika interned at a boutique law firm in Montreal specializing in intellectual property and entertainment law. She simultaneously took a class at Harvard on US Copyright Law. Monika graduated from Laval University with honours and a scholarship for excellence in the IP Law Course. She also published an article on the impact of 3D printing on IP law in a renowned French Canadian legal publication.

Natalie Dávila is the Marketing Manager for Polyvinyl Record Co., where she works with a roster of over 40 artists including of Montreal, Alvvays, Xiu Xiu, Pedro the Lion, and Jay Som, specializing in tour promotion & digital outlets, such as YouTube. Prior to moving to the label side she was the Programming Director for 35 Denton Music Festival in Texas and a Booking Coordinator at Paradigm Talent Agency fka The Windish Agency in Chicago.

Nick Duncan is the A&R Coordinator at Seattle-based indie label Sub Pop records, where he has been responsible for signing artists like LVL UP and Frankie Cosmos. Before joining the A&R staff two years ago, Nick oversaw college and non-commercial radio promotions for the label. Nick is a Seattle native and got his start in music as the music director at KUGS FM in Bellingham, WA before joining the Sub Pop family as an intern in 2013.

Sophie set up Tin Drum Music in October 2011 following 8 years experience in music supervision. Starting out as Creative Director of Huge Music, WCRS's in house music consultancy, Sophie supervised a number of high profile advertising campaigns, feature films and television series. Sophie then joined Chrysalis Music as Creative Director of synchronisation and subsequently joined Spirit Music Group as Senior Director of Creative Services.

Avarus is a creative consultancy, initiating, organising and consulting creative projects - mostly in music, but also increasingly in other fields.
I've had a moderately long career of playing guitar in various styles and formats, mostly in improvised music and I've been active in music education - as the founding member and first chairman of the Estonian Rhythmic Music Education Society, author of a music theory handbook and a teacher in several Estonian music schools. I speak at conferences, panels and talks, mostly related to music export topics.
