ASPECTS & RITA CARTER
Aspects and Rita Carter have been inspiring each other and making music together for over a decade. Booked on the same bill, they first met at The Rainbow Bistro in Ottawa’s Byward Market in 2007. Since then, they've written catalogues of music, played numerous shows together, mentored many young aspiring artists, and bridged the gap between musical genres within their community by hosting open jams.
They recently had the ultimate experience of playing the capacity-hit, Barney Danson Theatre at RBC Bluesfest 2018. Following their epic performance at the fest, Sean Jean and Nate Gee of Hip Hop Canada X Capcity Hip Hop, had this to say: "Ottawa’s own Aspects and Rita Carter were a highlight of the entire festival, treating the diverse crowd inside the Barney Danson Theater to one of the best performances of the festival.”
Their music as solo artists is what makes their blended sound so eclectic. When attending a live show, be prepared to experience pure, raw talent, charisma, natural chemistry and musicality, with an honourable mix of blues, folk, hip hop, soul and R n’ B. So far the duo have released two singles ("Mercy" & "2U") and have more releases in store for the future!
