Having spent the better part of 10 years playing with indie rock legend The Dears, singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Patrick Krief launched his fourth solo album Automanic in 2016. The album is deep and emotional, laying a contemporary pop rock sensibility over a shoegaze backdrop. The album was mixed by David Schiffman (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, Nine inch Nails) and mastered by Phil Demetro (Kevin Drew, Hey Rosetta) and features vocals by Ladies of the Canyon’s Maia Davies and Sam Roberts.

Documenting a period of shared grief and internal crisis in a song or a record (or two records) isn’t unique, but Automanic isn’t a mere document — it’s an opus work, made by a musician who was pushed to the brink, and propelled to a creative peak.
